When you think about ‘The Matrix,’ you envision a science fiction system of control in a world most of us don’t really inhabit. Most of us are in the halcyon days of a world we don’t inhabit — the comic book multiverse.
From adapted movies and TV series to graphic novels and storylines that get us all talking, there has never been a better time for science fiction and fantasy geeks than now. So, why does the cosplay CBM fan need another forum of reviews, blogs, musings, and polls?
Because, just like ‘The Matrix,’ it is everywhere. It is all around us. The problem is those caught in it — now, CBM fans, collectors, and aficionados — don’t know the rules.
CBM shows. Science fiction. Fantasy. Post-apocalyptic. Even horror. People — real fans — love to be consumed by all of it. Talk about it. Act on it. Collect it. Watch it.
Regardless of where we are in the Matrix, we all want to enjoy it. But go ask a DC fan about Marvel, a Star Wars fan about Star Trek, or poll a group of people on what’s the best (insert your film genre here) movie ever made?
You would think you insulted someone’s mother. The anger erodes any solid argument one could have. And why? Because rules for nerd engagement have been erased.
That’s what makes this multiverse sustain this long. Fans have been able to talk about anything geek objectively. Have your opinion. Maintain your passion. Hold your position. But allow others to speak openly and maybe — just maybe — take the other pill than you did.
I’m going to show these people what you don’t want them to see. I’m going to show them a world without you. A world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries. A world where anything is possible. Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you. (Neo, ‘The Matrix’)
CBM news and reviews. Board games and video games. All genres and eras. Blogs and polls. And all nerd things in-between. Here, in the MoviesMatrix:
Don’t expect the purveyors of MoviesMatrix (think of us as the patrons on the Nebuchadnezzar) to not come back with our own ideas, opinions, and open gate to walk through any door in here. We want to create a community of blerds and nerds, geeks and freaks, cosplayers and routine gamers but encourage those steadfast and so-real rules.
When you took your own blue pill, what else did you expect?!
